An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and forward thinking Pharmacist to join our Paediatric Oncology service at the Great North Children’s Hospital. This role forms part of a wider reorganisation of oncology pharmacy services, including the establishment of a Senior Lead Clinical Pharmacist for Paediatric Oncology, to strengthen clinical pharmacy support across paediatric cancer pathways.
We are seeking an experienced pharmacist ready to work at an advanced level within a specialist tertiary children’s hospital. The successful candidate will provide high quality, patient-centred clinical pharmacy input, supporting the safe and effective delivery of systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT), including clinical trials, and contributing to the multidisciplinary care of children and young people with cancer.
Working closely with the Senior Lead Clinical Pharmacist, the postholder will support the development of advanced clinical services, contribute to service improvement, and play a key role in the evolving paediatric oncology pharmacy model.
Based at the Great North Children’s Hospital on the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) site, the service provides comprehensive regional paediatric oncology care, including inpatient and day case SACT and clinical trial activity.
This post offers an excellent opportunity to further develop advanced paediatric oncology pharmacy expertise while helping shape future service delivery.
