Job summary

Sharp HealthCare is seeking an Advanced Care Technician to provide basic patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, supporting infant, pediatric, and adult patients with comfort measures and daily tasks in a hospital setting.

Shift information includes 7:00 AM start and 7:30 PM end with a 12/36-hour schedule; weekend rotation every other. A SEIU CBA applies. Required BLS; California CNA/ LVN or military corpsman or nursing student status is acceptable with CE requirements.

Qualifications

• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) is REQUIRED.
• Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
• NVCI within 90 days of hire or transfer is required (ED, BHU IP and OP only).
• Maintain a minimum of 10 related CE hours from TCMC or other source annually in lieu of certification maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care and comfort measures under the direction of a Registered Nurse for infant, pediatric, and adult populations.
• Records and reports observations to supervisor, assists in transporting patients, and prepares/clears medical equipment as needed.

Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum): $25.000 - $25.630 - $30.330

This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with SEIU.

In alignment with the STC SEIU CBA, this position will be posted for 7 days internally from 09/04/26 to 09/11/26 and available only to existing members of the ratified STC SEIU Bargaining Unit.

What You Will Do

An Advanced Care Technician works under the direction of a Registered Nurse, provides basic patient care and comfort measures for assigned patients. These duties are not to exclude other duties that may be assigned. Provides care for infant (0-1 year of age), emergency pediatric (1-13 years of age), and adult (14 years of age and older) populations.

Required Qualifications

• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED

Preferred Qualifications

• ACT: 3-6 months previous experience in an acute care facility, preferred.
• ACT-Float: 1-Year previous experience in an acute care facility, preferred.
• NICU Department: Minimum 2 years CNA experience, required. Pediatric experience strongly preferred.

Other Qualification Requirements

• One or more of the following is required upon hire:
  Current California Certified Nurse Assistant Certification, or
  Current California Licensed Vocational Nurse, or
  Corpsman (military), or
  Nursing student that has completed the fundamentals of nursing including initial assessment and taking vitals.
  NVCI within 90 days of hire or transfer, required (ED, BHU IP and OP only).
  Maintain a minimum of 10 related to work CE from TCMC or other source annually in lieu of maintaining certification.

  Records and reports observations to immediate supervisor, including temperature, pulse, weight, and daily input and output.
  Cleans and prepares medical equipment. Reports condition of equipment.
  Assists in transporting patients, as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic computer skills.
• Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
• Knowledge of electronic charting.
