Job summary

Sharp HealthCare is seeking an Advanced Care Technician to provide basic patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Care for infant, pediatric, and adult populations is expected, with emphasis on comfort measures and daily tasks.

Responsibilities include assisting with meals, documenting vital signs, preparing equipment, and NICU formula preparation, with required certifications and on-call standards as applicable.

Qualifications

• AHA BLS Healthcare for Healthcare Professionals is required.
• ACT: 3-6 months previous experience in an acute care facility, preferred.
• NICU Department: Minimum 2 years CNA experience, required.
• Pediatric experience strongly preferred.

Shift Start Time: 7 AM Shift End Time: 7:30 PM AWS Hours Requirement: 12/36 - 12 Hour Shift Additional Shift Information: minimum 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule Weekend Requirements: As Needed On-Call Required: No Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum): $25.000 - $25.630 - $30.330 This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with SEIU. In alignment with the STC SEIU CBA, this position will be posted for 7 days internally from 09/04/26 to 09/11/26 and available only to existing members of the ratified STC SEIU Bargaining Unit.

What You Will Do

An Advanced Care Technician work under the direction of a Registered Nurse, provides basic patient care and comfort measures for assigned patients. These duties are not to exclude other duties that may be assigned. Provides care for infant (0-1 year of age), emergency pediatric (1-13 years of age), and adult (14 years of age and older) populations.

Required Qualifications

• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED

Preferred Qualifications

• ACT: 3-6 months previous experience in an acute care facility, preferred.


• ACT-Float: 1-Year previous experience in an acute care facility, preferred.


• NICU Department: Minimum 2 years CNA experience, required.


• Pediatric experience strongly preferred.

Other Qualification Requirements

One or more of the following is required upon hire: Current California Certified Nurse Assistant Certification, or Current California Licensed Vocational Nurse, or Corpsman (military), or Nursing student that has completed the fundamentals of nursing including initial assessment and taking vitals. NVCI within 90 days of hire or transfer, required (ED, BHU IP and OP only). Maintain a minimum of 10 related to work CE from TCMC or other source annually in lieu of maintaining certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Basic computer skills. Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English. Knowledge of electronic charting.
