Job summary

Houston Methodist invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow to perform basic research under the supervision of a Physician and/or Principal Investigator. The role may involve hands-on lab work or computational duties supporting the department's research mission.

The successful candidate will contribute to research projects, document results, and assist in preparing reports for publication. MDs or terminal degree holders are eligible; experience in biomedical research is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of biomedical research principles and practices.
• Ability to communicate effectively in speaking, reading, and writing English.
• Ability to interact with physicians, patients, families, and coworkers professionally.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced laboratory setting and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Assists the physician in maintaining the PI’s laboratory operations.
• Contributes to a positive, dynamic team environment and collaborative reporting of data.
• Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication, including active listening and instruction.
• Supports department efforts to improve engagement and outcomes.
