Job summary

Barnabas Health Medical Group is seeking an Advance Practice Provider for night shifts in the Neurosciences department. The APP coordinates emergent inpatient care in collaboration with the attending physician and adheres to practice objectives and New Jersey State Board guidelines.

The role requires current APN or PA certification, NJ CDS and DEA licenses, and BLS/ACLS. Acute care experience and FCCS certification are preferred for this salaried position in New Jersey.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years acute care hospital experience preferred.
• Current APN or PA certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate emergent inpatient care with attending physician.
• Provide independent patient care per practice policies and NJ Board guidelines.
• Conduct assessments and interpret laboratory/diagnostic testing.
• Perform bedside procedures as needed and ensure patient education.
• Communicate with nursing staff and other providers to coordinate care.
• Explain procedures to patients prior to testing and support patient teaching.

Job Summary:

The APP is an independent health care provider who coordinates emergent inpatient care through collaboration with the attending Physician

The PA or APN provides care in accordance with the objectives policies and procedures of the practice and the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners Physician Assistant Nurse Practitioner Advisory Committee

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrates an ability to organize and achieve quality performance in new routine
• Demonstrates effectiveness in coordinating aspects of patient care
• Performs appropriate assessments and treatment for patients
• Performs appropriate interpretation of laboratory/diagnostic testing
• Performs basic bedside procedures such as central line removal feeding tube insertion rhino rocket insertion etc
• Demonstrates strong organizational skills communicates effectively and demonstrates time management
• Performs duties independently and coordinates care with the bedside nurse attending physician and other consulting providers
• The ability to compassionately interact with patients across different areas of care
• Recognizes areas for improvement in policies or patient care initiates change and educates all involved in change
• Regularly communicates with nursing staff concerning patient care issues
• Thoroughly explains procedures to patients prior to testing
• Provides appropriate patient teaching as necessary
