RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APN/PA) for full-time Day shift in the Neuro program at CMC, located in Toms River, NJ. The APP will coordinate perioperative and postoperative care for neurosurgery patients and collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and support staff to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include first assist, perioperative management, inpatient rounds, ED consults, and autonomous practice within licensed scope.

Qualificações

• Current APN Certification; Current RN NJ state license; CDS; DEA; Current BLS/ACLS.
• Current Physician Assistant Certification; CDS; DEA; Current BLS/ACLS

Job Overview

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is an independent health care provider who coordinates care through collaboration with the attending Physician

The PA or APN provides care in accordance with the objectives policies and procedures of the practice and the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Advisory Committee

Job Responsibilities

• The main function of this role is to provide consistent, high-quality perioperative/postoperative care for all neurosurgery patients
• The APP will be expected to function as an active member of the surgery patient care team
• Responsibilities include surgical first assisting, perioperative/postoperative management, hospital rounds on inpatients, and emergency room consultations
• The APP will be expected to work to the full extent of their licensure with an emphasis on supervised autonomy,

Essential Functions

• Perform history and physical examinations in preparation for surgical procedures
• Order appropriate laboratory, radiologic and special diagnostic tests and interpret and report to surgical team
• The APP may be asked to see emergent consults in the ED and when appropriate treat conditions within the scope of the APPs practice and experience
• Communication of complicated surgical emergencies and appropriate preparation for surgery will also be expected
• Thoroughly explains procedures to patients prior to testing
• Perform appropriate interpretation of laboratory/diagnostic testing
• Responsible for discharging patients in collaboration with the attending
• Demonstrates strong organizational skills, communicates effectively and demonstrates time management
• Performs duties independently and coordinates care with the bedside nurse, attending physician, and other consulting providers
• Compassionately interacts with patients across different areas of care

Required Qualifications (APN/NP)

• Current APN Certification
• Current RN NJ state license

• Current BLS/ACLS

Preferred

• 3-5 years of acute care hospital experience, preferably in a surgical specialty
