Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider for the Cardiac Surgery department at the New Brunswick campus. The role will rotate between floor and ICU, with possible OR rotation for those with RNFA certification.

Expect rotations nights, weekends, and holidays, with a salary range of $125,000.00 to $195,000.00 per year. Candidates must have acute care certification (NP) or equivalent, NJ APN/PA license, NCCPA, CDS, DEA, BLS, and ACLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate from NP program with certification in Acute Care, or Adult with prior critical care experience.
• RNFA certification required for OR consideration.
• PA applicants must be from an accredited PA program.
• 2–3 years of critical care experience minimum.
• Current NJ APN/PA license and NCCPA certification required.
• CDS and DEA certifications required; RN license required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in Cardiac Surgery, rotating floor/ICU with potential OR rotation.
• Work a full scope of licensure, making autonomous treatment decisions.
• Adapt to high-volume acute patient population and manage time effectively.
• Participate in procedures and line placements as needed; maintain patient progress.

Job Summary

RWJBH is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider for the Cardiac Surgery department at the New Brunswick campus

This role will be expected to rotate between floor/ICU with possible training and rotation to cardiac surgery operating room for the right candidate

Role includes rotational nights, weekends, and holidays

Essential Functions

• Candidates should possess effective time management and critical care skills
• Must be able to adapt and adjust to a large volume of acute patient population
• Skills with procedures such as central line placement, arterial line placement, and chest tube placement are preferred
• Must also be accustomed to working as an autonomous provider, for example: making treatment decisions and moving patient care forward
• Experience with POCUS is also preferred
• The expectation is for the candidate to work to a full extent of licensure

Education

• Graduate from NP program with certification in Acute Care, or Adult with previous critical care experience
• NP can only be considered for the OR if they have their RNFA certification
• Physician Assistants need to have graduated from an accredited PA program,
