You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide direct medical care, monitor patient health, and implement evidence-based treatment protocols in a structured, compassionate environment.

Join Our Team

As a Nurse Practitioner you will be supporting our mental wellness, addiction recovery, and other health programs across the State of New Jersey. Our level of care is extensive, including detox, residential, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and virtual IOP (VIOP). You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide direct care, monitor patient health, and provide comprehensive medical efforts in a structured and supportive environment.

Qualifications

Duel-Board Certification Requirements:

  • Required: Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
  • Required: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) ***AND/OR*** Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP)

Qualification Requirements:

  • Candidates must have a valid and unencumbered license as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of New Jersey.
  • Experience supporting both inpatient mental health programs is preferred,
  • Current certifications in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and BLS (Basic Life Support) are required.

  • Dually certified as a both a PMHNP and FNP/ACNP (see above).
Travel Requirements

Hybrid position, supporting both in-person and virtual programs across several facilities in New Jersey. This provider must be willing to be on-site at a facility on average one day a week, up to 25% overall.

Extended Job Description
POSITION PURPOSE

The function of the APN is to assist the Medical Director in providing client medical services. The ANP assists in ensuring all clinical programs are appropriate to the clients’ specific issues, medical history, and diagnoses. The APN will provide medical services and care in coordination with the Medical Director and the interdisciplinary team, while making reasonable accommodations to ensure clients are as safe and comfortable as possible during their stay.

KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING REQUIRED AT TIME OF HIRE

Knowledge of addictions and mental health complications

Knowledge of the 12-Step Recovery Program.

Knowledge and competency in problem solving, stress management, ethics and team building.

Knowledge of alcohol and other drugs that includes:

Alcohol and addictive drugs and their physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual impact on the individual.

Alcohol and addictive drugs and their impact on the family.

Ability to determine if a medical emergency exists and to take appropriate action, when necessary.

Knowledge of emergency procedures used in case of alcohol and/or drug overdose.

Knowledge of the stages of alcohol and other drug withdrawals and ability to take appropriate action at each stage.

Knowledge of Federal, State and Municipal laws and/or regulations that regulate the treatment of alcoholism and drug addiction, including:

Knowledge of airborne and blood borne pathogens (TB, HIV, AIDS, HB) and risk reduction methodologies and the use of universal precautions.

SPECIFIC AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY TO POSITION
  • 1. Perform complete history, psychiatric and/or physical examination to each new client within timelines stipulated in the facility policy and procedure manual and in accordance with state licensing standards.
  • 2. Assist the physician in providing medical protocols.
  • 3. Supervise interns
  • 4. Make recommendations for follow-up services that reflect the findings or risk factors discovered during medical assessments.
  • 5. Ensure clients are referred to specialists when the providers of our treatment facility cannot meet their medical needs.
  • 6. Assist in monitoring and ensuring the provision of all prescribed drugs and medically necessary pharmaceutical services.
  • 7. Assist in ensuring that drug utilization reviews are appropriately conducted and documented as outlined in the policy and procedure manual and to specifically indicate the use/do not use abbreviations list and look alike/sound alike medications.
  • 8. Assist in implementing and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure the clients' right to confidentiality of medical information.
  • 9. Maintain procedures for monitoring the coordination of care provided to clients, including all medically necessary services delivered both within and outside the treatment agency.
  • 10. Demonstrate consistent professional behavior, ethical practice, and commitment to patient-centered care in all interactions and organizational activities.
  • 11. Provide care that is effective, evidence-based, and safe.
  • 12. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members using respectful, clear approaches.
  • 13. Treat all patients equitably, without discrimination based on race, gender, socioeconomic status, or other factors.
  • 14. Navigate and manage patient expectations to ensure realistic goals for care.
  • 15. Attend scheduled triage and clinical meetings, contribute relevant insights, and participate actively.
  • 16. Collaborate effectively during meetings to optimize patient care outcomes.
  • 17. Maintain accessibility and responsiveness during on-call periods.
  • 18. Provide appropriate care and documentation during on-call hours
  • 19. Complete accurate, comprehensive, and timely documentation of all client encounters on the same day
  • 20. Maintain documentation standards per regulatory and organizational guidelines.
  • 21. Maintains current DEA registration and complies with all requirements for controlled substances.
  • 22. Adhere to policies for secure handling and documentation of stock medications.
  • 23. Conduct comprehensive daily morning rounds in detox/residential units.
  • 24. Communicate AM rounds exception in advance and obtain approval for alternative timing.
  • 25. Prioritize organizational duties and commitments above external employment.
  • 26. Communicate proactively about conflicts and seek approval for exceptions.
  • 27. Participates constructively in peer review, providing objective feedback and engaging in quality improvement.
  • 28. Accept feedback professionally and implement recommendations, maintaining confidentiality.
  • 29. Accept reassignment in cases such as conflict of interest, workload management and specialty specific expertise while maintaining consistent quality standards.
  • 30. Protect the privacy of all client information in accordance with GRNH, LLC’s privacy policies, procedures, and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a healthcare provider. Failure to comply with the company’s policies and procedures on client privacy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
  • 31. May access protected health information (PHI) and other patent information only to the extent that it is necessary to complete your job duties. The incumbent may only share such information with those who have specific client information you have in your possession to complete their job responsibilities related to treatment, payment or other GRNH, LLC operations.
  • 32. Expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding GRNH, LLC’s policies and procedures on client privacy and any observed practices in violation of the policy to their supervisor.
