Job summary

Mandan Park District is seeking an Adult Volleyball Official to officiate league and event matches at Mandan venues. This entry-level seasonal role supports the Recreation program and requires reliable attendance and adherence to USA Volleyball rules.

Responsibilities include setting up equipment with the Recreation Supervisor, calling matches, filing incident reports, submitting scoresheets, and communicating effectively in writing and verbally.

Qualifications

• Must have a background in volleyball and/or volleyball officiating.
• The ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Must be at least 16 years of age. (15 if working weekends)

Responsibilities

• Officiate all scheduled matches.
• Follow rules set forth in the Adult Volleyball Officiating Guide (USA Volleyball Rules).
• Work with Recreation Supervisor to determine opening and closing procedures of adult volleyball league site as needed.
• Complete Initial Incident/Accident Reports as needed and give to the supervisor the following day.
• Turn in scoresheets in a timely manner.
• Report to work on time and ready to work. Absences must receive prior approval by the supervisor.

Works under the supervision of the Recreation Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY

Adult Volleyball Official will be responsible for officiating adult volleyball at Mandan All Season Arena, local schools and/or Legion Park.

JOB DUTIES

• Work with Recreation Supervisor to determine setup and take down procedures of volleyball equipment as needed.


• Follow rules set forth in the Adult Volleyball Officiating Guide (USA Volleyball Rules).


• Work with Recreation Supervisor to determine appropriate opening and closing procedures of adult volleyball league site as needed.


• Officiate all scheduled matches.


• Responsible for ensuring other official (if scheduled) is on site. Must call scheduled official if he/she does not show up for matches.


• Complete Initial Incident/Accident Reports as needed and give to the supervisor the following day.


• Turn in scoresheets in a timely manner.


• Report to work on time and ready to work. Absences must receive prior approval by the supervisor.


• Inform supervisor prior to running out of supplies.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is primarily indoors.

Must be able to stand for 3-5 hours at a time.
