Job summary

OKDHS in Ada, Oklahoma is seeking an Adult Protective Services Specialist IV to oversee a unit, review casework, and supervise staff in alignment with APS policy and state statute.

The role requires a master’s degree with professional social work experience or a bachelor’s degree with more extensive experience, extensive travel, and a valid driver's license. Civil service appointment with full state employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and two years of experience in professional social work or Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in professional social work.

Responsibilities

• Reviews APS casework for quality and approves field work.
• Approves time, Leave and hours for the APS Specialist in the unit.
• Coaches staff, develops performance plans, and completes PMP-111 process.
• Administers performance improvement, discipline, and corrective actions for unit staff.
• Monitors unit caseloads, referrals, and staff assignments per APS policy and State Statute.
• Mentors new staff, supports Pre-Academy work, and oversees new worker academy enrollment.
• Interprets policy, procedures, and instructions to APS staff.
• Communicates with District Director and divisions.

Master’s degree and two years of experience in professional social work

Adult Protective Services Specialist IV - H26D

Annual Salary: $ 51,690.62 + Full State Employee Benefits

Travel is extensive. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Requirements consist of a master’s degree and two years of experience in professional social work
• OR a Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience in professional social work

Job Responsibilities:

• The APSSIV reviews all APS casework for quality and approves field work completed by the APS Specialist, conducts monthly unit & individual meetings with staff, case staffing with appropriate staff, DHS Office of General Council, the District Attorney, and community partners as needed.
• The APSSIV approves all time, Leave and hours of service for the APS Specialist assigned to the unit.
• The APSSIV routinely coaches unit staff, identifies strengths and weaknesses, formalizes staff development plans, and completes the PMP-111 process.
• The APSSIV administers performance improvement plans, corrective discipline, and corrective action plans for unit staff.
• The APSSIV reviews, assigns, and monitors unit caseloads including reviewing new referrals/reports, assigning referrals/reports to appropriate staff, and monitoring the completion of all assignments within the scope of APS policy and State Statute.
• The APSSIV mentors and assigns field mentors to new APS staff, assists new staff in the completion of all Pre-Academy Work, and ensures new staff are enrolled and ready to participate in APS New Worker Academy.
• The APSSIV interprets policy, procedures, and instruction to APS staff.
• The APSSIV communicates with District Director, Division APO, Division PFRs, and Division Director.
