Job summary

State of Missouri is seeking an Adult Protective Services Specialist II to investigate abuse, neglect, and exploitation of seniors (60+) and disabled adults (18+). The role conducts home visits, interviews victims and caregivers, and coordinates protective services while participating in an on-call rotation.

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate.If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck.A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

What you’ll do:

• Investigate reports of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of the elderly (age 60+) and disabled (ages 18+).
• Conduct home visits to observe surroundings and interview victims and caregivers.
• Coordinate interventions and ongoing protective services needs.
• Be available to be in an on call rotation with other members of your team.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High level communication and interviewing skills.
• Able to work independently and show initiative within a team environment.
• Able to be resilient, with critical and innovative thinking skills
• Bachelor's degree (relevant experience such as LPN, RN, or social service supports, etc. experience may be substituted for each year of required education).
• For the APS Specialist II position, one or more years of experience in Adult Protective Services or other related human services field.
