Job summary

The WA State Department of Ecology is hiring an Adult Litter Crew Member in Bellingham, WA. This full-time seasonal position runs Sept 2026 through Nov 2026, with 10-hour Monday–Thursday shifts and opportunities to help keep WA roads clean.

Duties include setting up road signs and cones, picking up litter, and recycling, as well as cleaning litter along highways, medians, interchanges and public spaces. Benefits include sick leave and health, dental, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Heavy lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Walking 2-6 miles per day on rough terrain.
• Constant bending and driving as needed.
