Job summary

Somerville Public Schools is hiring a Workforce Education and Career Advisor to support adult learners in achieving their education and career goals. This full-time role includes advising students, coordinating recruitment, and facilitating workshops on job readiness.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Counseling, a minimum of two years' relevant experience, and strong interpersonal and computer skills. This position is grant-funded and follows the Somerville Educator's Union collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

• Two years of successful counseling experience in adult education.
• Experience with adult learners and trauma victims.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment and placement of new learners.
• Deliver advising workshops on education and career planning.
• Collaborate with teachers on job-readiness curriculum.
