Responsibilities

• Participate in bedside teaching, simulation, and didactics for medical students, residents, and advanced practice providers.

About the Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery

The Department of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at Dell Medical School is dedicated to delivering comprehensive, high‑acuity surgical care while advancing innovation in clinical practice, education, and research. Our team provides the full continuum of care for patients with complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular conditions, in close collaboration with partners across critical care, cardiology, and anesthesiology.

We have particular expertise in:

• Complex aortic surgery, including open and hybrid approaches to thoracic aortic aneurysms and dissections.
• Cardiogenic shock, with robust integration of temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support including extra‑corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO).
• Heart transplantation and advanced heart failure therapies.
