Job summary

The Rinks Foundation is seeking an Adult Hockey Coordinator in Orange County to develop and run adult hockey programs, Learn to Play, and clinics. You will manage on-ice and off-ice activities, coordinate registrations and schedules, and ensure safe, engaging experiences.

Strong coaching, organizational, and leadership skills are essential; USA Hockey basics and CAHA requirements are preferred. The role requires flexible hours, including holidays and weekends, with a starting pay of $28 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED
• College degree preferred
• Minimum of three years of experience in developing/running hockey programs
• Excellent skating/hockey skills and instructional ability
• Must possess excellent interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills
• Certified in basic first aid skills (infant and adult) and injury reporting procedures
• Registered and insured through USA Hockey
• Strong knowledge of hockey equipment
• Passionate about teaching
• Possess dynamic characteristics of energy, assertiveness, drive, enthusiasm, and fun
• Possess a strong understanding of The Rinks grassroots commitment to quality guest experiences, products, and entertainment
• Exemplify strong leadership skills and serve as a role model
• Maintain a consistently professional, motivational, and enthusiastic management style
• Able to work a flexible work schedule with changing days off and hours, including holidays and weekends

Responsibilities

• Organize and promote adult hockey programs
• Oversee Adult Hockey Initiations and Learn to Play Hockey (subject to change as business needs change)
• Oversee/Manage program registration process and administration of game schedules
• Ensure these schedules coincide with the facility master ice schedule
• Oversee and ensure league parity and safe play
• Be present for games, player check-in, and other meetings as needed
• Hold captain’s meetings as needed for each division/season
• Responsible for coordinating with the head of referees regarding any league issues and scheduling
• Lead the Hockey Clinics and assume primary responsibility for class scheduling, curriculum, and instructional coverage
• On-rink: Learn to Play Hockey - assist with check-in and gear fitting, lead coach, etc.
• Rookie Clinics - prepare/implement practice plans, engage with participants
• Rookie League - assist with registration, run on-ice tryouts, draft players
• Adult Clinics - organize on-ice practice plans
• Ensure participants are engaged and learning during Clinics/Practices
• Be available to answer questions as needed
• AttendPower Play meetings and training as directed
• Coordinate with Marketing for league development and promotions
• Assist with social media tips or virtual training initiatives
