Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher required for entry.
• At least one year of ESL teaching experience.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish a positive and trusting relationship with students.
• Foster student accountability, self-advocacy, self-awareness, and critical thinking skills.
• Teach ESL classes geared to adult learners with English as a Second Language.
• Maintain attendance records, progress reports, and up-to-date records.
• Ensure confidentiality of student records and administer tests as needed.
• Pre- and post-test eligible students using TABE and TABE CLAS-E per policy.
• Create a conducive learning environment and manage registrations and testing.
• Encourage ESL student participation across Adult Education programs.
• Support students toward high-school equivalency testing.
