Job summary

The Northwest Tri-County IU5 Adult Education Program is seeking a part-time Adult Education Instructor to provide individualized instruction in Language Arts, math, science, and social studies for GED prep or entry into career or post-secondary education. This role includes jail-based instruction in Warren County, 5 hours per week, with two evening classes.

Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor's degree (or foreign credential) and, for math, a secondary certification or higher.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• Secondary math certification or higher for math instructors.
• Experience with Adult Education and CCR standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized basic Language Arts, math, science, and social studies instruction for GED prep.
• Instruct at Warren County Jail for 5 hours per week, with two evening classes.
• Allocate time for Professional Development, Prep, Case Management/Student Support weekly.

Position Summary

The Northwest Tri-County IU5 Adult Education Program is seeking part-time Adult Education Instructors to provide individualized basic Language Arts, math, science, and social studies instruction for GED Exam preparation or for entry into career or post-secondary education. Currently we have the need for an instructor to provide instruction at the Warren County Jail working 5 hours per week.

Classes Will Be Held On Tuesday

• Class 1: 7:45 - 8:45 pm


• Class 2: 8:45 - 9:45 pm

Instructor will also receive one hour each for Professional Development, Prep, Case Management/Student Support per week

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required from an accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent foreign credential


• Instructors that are teaching high school level mathematics, must have a secondary math teaching certification or a bachelor's degree or higher

Desired Qualifications

• Current valid Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate preferred


• Teaching experience preferred


• Knowledge of Adult Education and College and Career Readiness Standards


• Experience working with ESL (English as a Second Language) students
