Job summary

NMSU Conference Services is seeking an Adult Education Instructor at Doña Ana Community College in New Mexico. This exempt, full-time role requires delivering aligned curriculum and workforce-ready instruction to adult learners, with potential split shifts including mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate's or Bachelor's degree with substantial relevant experience; a Master’s degree or higher is preferred, and bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree + 9 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree + 7 years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain curriculum aligned with departmental, state, and federal standards.
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based instruction aligned with adult learning principles and workforce readiness goals.
• Adapt instructional content and strategies to meet the needs of assigned instructional areas and learner populations.
• Develop and implement strategies to support student attendance, persistence, and retention.
• Monitor learner participation and conduct outreach to students experiencing attendance or engagement barriers.
• Collaborate with Student Services and other support teams to coordinate learner support and referrals.
• Develop and complete an annual professional learning plan aligned with departmental priorities.
• Participate in required departmental meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.
• Participate in local, regional, and state conferences, professional learning opportunities, and communities of practice related to adult education and workforce development.
• Collect, maintain, and use student and program data in accordance with departmental, state, and federal requirements.
• Collaborate with Data and Assessment teams to support reporting accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Use data to inform instructional practices, retention strategies, and learner support interventions.
• Proctor all departmental assessments as needed.
• Maintain regular onsite presence at assigned campus locations; campus assignments and onsite schedules may vary based on program needs.
• Manage instructional equipment, technology, and classroom resources responsibly.
