Job summary

The Arc of Ocean County in Lakewood, NJ is seeking an Adult Day Program Instructor to lead engaging daily activities for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. You will combine instruction with hands-on experiences to help participants learn, grow independence, and participate in the community.

This full-time role offers Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, with a starting pay of $20.70 per hour and paid on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to organize activities and manage time.
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities is a plus.
• Flexibility to participate in community-based programming and transportation duties.

Responsibilities

• Develop and facilitate educational, recreational, vocational, and life-skills activities.
• Adapt activities and teaching methods to individual abilities and learning styles.
• Encourage participation and build confidence through personal accomplishments.
• Coordinate and participate in community-based activities and outings.
• Document progress and maintain accurate records.
