Akron Children's Hospital is seeking an ACHD Cardiologist to deliver high-quality care for adults with congenital heart disease and to guide the transition from pediatric to adult services. The role emphasizes collaboration with adult cardiology, cardiac surgery, anesthesia, and other specialties.

You will join a team focused on education, research, and improving patient outcomes, with opportunities for leadership, academic involvement, and access to a broad network across Northeast Ohio.

Qualificações

• MD or DO degree required.
• Board certification in Pediatric Cardiology and Adult Congenital Heart Disease required or eligible.
• ACHD board eligibility or certification required or eligible.
• Eligibility for medical licensure in Ohio required.
• Experience caring for adults with congenital heart disease required.

The ACHD Cardiologist

will ensure high - quality care for adults with congenital heart disease and facilitate seamless transition from pediatric to adult services by strengthening collaborative care pathways with adult cardiology, cardiac surgery, anesthesia, and other specialties.

Adult Congenital Heart Service

Akron Children's offers over 800 adults with congenital heart disease comprehensive diagnostics, lifestyle counseling, medical management, and interventional and treatment for the full spectrum of conditions related to congenital heart disease (CHD). The team specializes in the complex anatomy and heart function of adults with CHD, focusing on education and counseling that will help empower patients to monitor their own health.

Akron Children's is a key partner of the ACCESS Heart Network, working closely with Cincinnati Children's Heart Institute, one of the nation's leading pediatric cardiology and congenital programs. Through this collaboration, families across Northeast Ohio gain streamlined access to advanced pediatric and congenital heart expertise without the burden of traveling long distances for specialized care.

Required Qualifications

• Board certification in Pediatric Cardiology and Adult Congenital Heart Disease
• ACHD board eligibility or certification
• Eligibility for medical licensure in the state
• Demonstrated experience caring for adult congenital heart disease patients
