Job summary

Redmont Health and Rehabilitation in Birmingham, Alabama is seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to lead our nursing team and ensure high-quality resident care.

You will collaborate with the Director of Nursing, coach staff, oversee clinical documentation, compliance, and staffing. This role requires an Alabama RN license and prior leadership in long-term care.

Qualifications

• Active Alabama RN license is required.
• Experience in skilled nursing or long-term care settings is required.
• ADON, RN Unit Manager, Nurse Supervisor, or other nursing leadership experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of nursing practices and clinical documentation.
• Knowledge of CMS regulations, state survey process, infection prevention, and quality improvement.
• Ability to coach staff and promote teamwork.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities amidst changing resident and staffing needs.
• Commitment to compassionate resident care and supportive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily nursing operations with the Director of Nursing.
• Support staff development and ensure safe, high-quality resident care.
• Assist with staffing coordination and care delivery monitoring.
• Review clinical documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Support infection prevention practices and wound care oversight.
• Assist with staff orientation, education, and competency assessments.
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
• Support survey readiness and plans of correction implementation.
• Collaborate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team.
• Provide leadership in the Director of Nursing’s absence and on-call coverage.
