Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Current AHA BLS Provider certification.
• PALS certification required for inpatient nursing; obtain within one year if not held.
• BSN preferred; pediatric or rehabilitation nursing experience preferred.
• Per diem candidates need at least 1 year of pediatric nursing experience.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, collaboration and problem‑solving skills.
• Commitment to helping adolescents and families achieve meaningful rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments for adolescent rehab patients.
• Develop and evaluate pediatric rehabilitation care plans.
• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care and monitor progress.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other team members.
• Support adolescents toward independence, mobility and self-management.
• Educate patients and families about treatments and rehab goals.
• Involve families in care decisions and transitions of care.
• Delegate tasks to LPNs and nursing assistants per standards.
• Serve as a resource and role model; take on relief charge nurse duties as needed.
