Job summary

Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research organisation to develop a clinician-informed benchmark for evaluating how AI companion chatbots respond to adolescents with mental health challenges. You will author realistic adolescent cases, assess clinical realism, and help refine evaluation rubrics for AI conversations.

We seek MD/DO/PhD/PsyD or equivalent with child/adolescent expertise, suicide prevention or related experience, and strong written communication skills.

Qualifications

• MD/DO/PhD/PsyD or equivalent in Psychiatry, Psychology, or related field.
• Clinical or research experience focused on children and adolescents.
• Expertise in suicide prevention, self-harm assessment, child & adolescent psychiatry, clinical child psychology, digital mental health, or evidence-based therapies (DBT/CBT).
• Strong written communication and ability to provide structured clinical feedback.

Responsibilities

• Author fictionalised adolescent mental health case scenarios based on clinical expertise.
• Review scenarios for clinical realism, developmental appropriateness, and ethical considerations.
• Help develop clinician-informed evaluation rubrics for AI chatbot responses.
• Review AI conversations and provide expert judgment to calibrate evaluation systems.
• Advise on best practices for assessing AI behaviour across mental health domains (suicide risk, medical/therapeutic impersonation, parasocial attachment).
