Lifepoint Health is seeking an Admissions Clerk for UP Health System Bell in Michigan. The role involves greeting patients, handling registrations, collecting payments, and coordinating with staff to ensure smooth patient flow.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and 1–2 years of admitting experience, with the ability to work afternoons and weekends in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Minimum Work Experience: 1-2 years of general admitting experience preferred.
• Must be able to work Afternoon shift & Weekends.

Responsibilities

• Prepares statistical reports, maintains department metrics, performs admitting/registration functions such as electronic filing, enter patient data, verify insurance, and collect upfront cash while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Greets visitors and communicates with patients and providers.
• Places, answers, and directs phone calls and distributes messages.
• Handles information requests, including reviewing files and records, answering inquiries, and responding to incoming work requests.
• Controls basic accounting functions such as providing daily payment log/journal to cashier for reconciliation.
