Job summary

Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI seeks a Recruitment Officer to represent the university to prospective students, parents, counselors, and other organizations involved in the college selection process. The role manages a recruitment territory, builds partnerships, and leverages enrollment data to maintain active outreach and influence admission yield.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in customer service, recruitment, education, or related field.
• Strong cross-cultural skills.
• Strong presentation, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Commitment to inclusion and equity.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to remote locations and load/transport materials.
• Ability to work evening and weekend hours throughout the year, especially during the fall travel season.

Responsibilities

• Represent GVSU to prospective students, parents, counselors, and others involved in the college selection process.
• Advise prospective applicants on admissions process, academic programs, support resources, and opportunities via in-person and virtual appointments, small group presentations, phone calls, and emails.
• Manage recruitment territory through prospect relationship management, leveraging partnerships and data to maintain recruitment activity and influence yield.
• Review materials submitted by applicants for admission decisions.
• Develop and implement recruitment and yield projects as assigned.
• Participate in information sessions, open houses, and other recruitment events.
• Perform other duties as required by leadership.
