Job summary

Bedford Care Center of Petal in Mississippi seeks an Admissions Coordinator to organize, market, coordinate and manage the Facility’s Admissions process, providing potential clients with information, tours, assessments and timely follow-up. This role drives occupancy through effective bed management and strong referral relationships.

The position requires coordinating with hospital social services, discharge planners and families, maintaining census data, and ensuring timely admissions

Qualifications

• Coordinate admissions process with census data and facility information.
• Communicate with hospital social services, discharge planners, families and referral sources.
• Maintain a database of medical contacts and community resources.
• Ensure admissions documents and signatures are obtained timely.
• Monitor inquiry, admission and census trends as part of CQI.
• Prepare monthly inquiry summaries and related reports.

Responsibilities

• Cultivates communications with hospital social services, discharge planners, families and other referral sources.
• Provides facility tours and in-hospital visits/assessments; communicates with families.
• Manages Admissions process by maintaining updated census data and facility information.
• Manages the inquiry process professionally with timely follow-up.
• Coordinates outside sales calls for referrals and community contacts.
• Develops and maintains relationships to advise referral sources of bed availability.
• Chairs the Daily Admissions Meeting and informs staff of changes.
• Maintains knowledge of state/federal regulations, Medicare/Medicaid processes.
• Monitors inquiry, admission and census trends for CQI; submits reports.
