Job description

Join the team of highly dedicated mental health professionals. We are presently looking for a Full Time Admissions Coordinator Day Shiftwho will be responsible for answering intake inquiry calls, data entry and reviewing admission paperwork with admitted clients. The coordinator helps manage paperwork in the office and helps the intake specialist admit patients to hospital programs. Specific functions include:

  • Answers phone, schedules appointments and manages departmental paperwork.

  • Reviews admission paperwork with clients admitting to the hospital.

  • Makes appropriate referrals based on patients’ needs and preferences.

  • Works cooperatively with internal contacts to create a therapeutic, patient-focused environment.

  • Enters patient information into hospital data management systems and departmental logs.

  • Incorporates knowledge with regard to applicable laws and internal policies regarding the assessment, admission, and referral process.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and practice of hospital Policies and Procedures, patient rights, confidentiality, boundaries, therapeutic communication, and therapeutic interventions.

    Qualifications:

    Education:

    High School diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral field preferred

    Experience:

    At least 2 years experience in a psychiatric setting or related experience.
