PACS Group seeks an Admissions Assistant to welcome new residents and coordinate their entry into the facility. You will be the first point of contact for residents, families, hospitals, and referral sources, ensuring a smooth and respectful admissions process.

Working with the Admissions Coordinator and interdisciplinary teams, you will handle pre-admission assessments, documentation, insurance verifications, and tours, while maintaining compliant records and supporting outreach efforts.

Qualifications

  • Prior admissions experience in healthcare or long-term care preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance verification.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; proficient with EHRs and MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as first contact for prospective residents, families, hospitals, and referral sources.
  • Coordinate and schedule admissions, including pre-admission assessments and docs.
  • Maintain accurate records per federal, state, and facility regulations.
  • Assist with insurance verifications, authorizations, and financial eligibility.

  • Prepare and distribute admission packets and documentation.
  • Follow up with hospitals, physicians, and case managers to ensure timely transfers.

General Purpose

The Admissions Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth and welcoming transition for new residents and their families. This position supports the Admissions Coordinator and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate efficient and empathetic admissions processes.

Essential Duties
  • Serve as the first point of contact for prospective residents, families, hospitals, and referral sources.
  • Coordinate and schedule resident admissions, including pre-admission assessments and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with federal, state, and facility regulations.
  • Assist with insurance verifications, authorizations, and financial eligibility processes.
  • Provide facility tours and information to prospective residents and their families.
  • Collaborate with nursing, social services, and administrative staff to ensure a seamless admission experience.
  • Prepare and distribute admission packets and required documentation.
  • Follow up with hospitals, physicians, and case managers to ensure timely and complete transfer of information.
  • Support marketing and outreach efforts as needed.
Compensation

$27.00 - $33.00

Qualification
Education and/or Experience
  • Prior experience in admissions, healthcare, or long-term care setting strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance verification processes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
