Admissions - Admissions Manager

BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Plans, directs and supervises a comprehensive admitting program and patient access program for the hospital. Directs all admitting functions for patients of all ages. Maintains, develops, and continually improves and updates all admitting procedures with related hospital departments, medical staff and appropriate outside agencies. According to hospital and departmental policies and procedures, legal requirements, etc., coordinates daily work flow of personnel in admitting office. Recommends changes and innovations in staffing, policies, and procedures as appropriate.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education

• Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in business or patient services with professional admitting accreditation preferred

Minimum Work Experience

• Minimum of three to five years of progressively responsible admitting procedures experience preferred

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

• Able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Ability to analyze and resolve problems and complaints
