Qualifications

• Must possess a J.D. or LL.B degree from an accredited law school.
• Must be a member in good standing of the state, territory, DC, or Puerto Rico bar.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Attorney Adviser (Admiralty) for Merchant Mariner Credentialing and related matters.
• Provide authoritative legal counsel on agency actions, regulations and international agreements.
• Conduct legal research of facts, laws, regulations, and precedents relevant to the program.
• Coordinate with other legal offices (general law, claims and litigation, information law).
