Job summary

Together for Youth in Valhalla, NY is seeking an Administrator on Duty (AOD) to monitor safety and procedures within the facility and oversee staff and youth.

The AOD will coordinate coverage, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the agency's mission while working with medical, case management, and maintenance teams to maintain safety and well-being for youth.

Qualifications

  • Minimum associate's degree required.
  • In lieu of degree, additional year of experience with high-risk youth in residential treatment may be required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with high-risk youth in residential treatment; at least 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Must obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR and crisis management certifications.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record; travel may be required.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule with variable hours including day, evening, weekend, holiday and on-call hours.
  • Ability to work with an economically and culturally diverse population.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees staffing including directing and assigning work and ensuring ratios are met.
  • Monitors facility for safety and security including staff and building checks; documents breaches and responses.
  • Oversees intake of youth and monitors transitions throughout the facility.
  • Identifies and communicates areas of risk including transition of youth, ratios, restraints, safety plans and injuries.
  • Consults with management regarding risk reporting, safety planning, follow up plans and reducing future risk.
  • Partners with medical and case management staff to ensure health, safety and well-being of youth.
  • Partners with maintenance staff to ensure building upkeep and cleanliness; dorms meet regulatory standards.
  • Provides on-call administrative oversight.
  • Ensures staff comply with all laws and regulations, including NYS OCFS, SCOC, and COA.

Description

The Administrator on Duty (AOD) is responsible for monitoring safety and procedures within the facility, overseeing and providing support to staff and youth.

Job Responsibilities
  • Oversees staffing including directing and assigning work and ensuring ratios are met.
  • Monitors facility for safety and security including but not limited to staff and building checks, routine dorm room checks and addresses any security breaches. Documents and reports breaches and response taken.
  • Oversees intake of youth, monitors and assesses youth transitions throughout facility.
  • Identifies and communicates areas of risk including but not limited to transition of youth, ratios, restraints, safety plans and injuries.
  • Consults with management regarding risk reporting protocols, safety planning, follow up plans, and reducing future risk and program outcome data.
  • Partners with the facility's medical and case management staff to ensure health, safety, and well-being of youth.
  • Partners with facility and custodial maintenance staff to ensure maintenance of building at all times, ensure facility is kept clean and dorms are kept in accordance with standards required by regulatory agencies.
  • Provides on-call administrative oversight.
  • Ensure staff complies with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including the NYS Office of Children and Family Services, SCOC, and COA.
  • Adheres to agency policies and procedures; follows and supports agency mission, vision and values including participating in internal surveys and data collection for continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with high-risk youth in residential treatment setting required and at least 1 year of supervisory experience required.
