Job summary

Lancer Worldwide, a Hoshizaki Company, seeks an Item Master Administrator to steward item master data across ERP and PLM systems. You will ensure accurate population of attributes, maintain synchronization between Dynamics 365 ERP and Bluestar PLM, and enforce data governance to support procurement, production, and sales.

The role involves auditing data, coordinating with Engineering and Finance, and leading data quality initiatives to optimize master data management across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in item master management, ERP master data administration, PLM data coordination, or similar master data governance roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP and Bluestar PLM, or similar ERP/PLM systems.
  • Strong understanding of item master best practices, part numbering conventions, revision control, BOM relationships, and data dependencies.
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong analytical, auditing, and problem‑solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Engineering to initiate new part creation and collaborate with Finance, Procurement, Sales, Operations, and other teams to ensure item master attributes are accurately populated in Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP.
  • Maintain synchronization of item master data between Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP and Bluestar PLM, including item attributes, revisions, and configuration-related information.
  • Perform regular audits of item master records to identify and correct inaccurate, incomplete, duplicate, or inconsistent data while enforcing data governance standards.
  • Support the phase-in of new parts and products by coordinating item setup and ensuring required data is available for procurement, sales, production, and other downstream processes.
  • Support phase-out activities for obsolete parts by ensuring system records, documentation, and related processes are updated appropriately.
  • Partner with the Product Configuration Administrator to ensure timely creation and setup of parts required for new and updated product configurations.
  • Maintain revision control processes by managing engineering changes, version history, and approved item revisions.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to support accurate item creation and maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain item master templates, workflows, procedures, and standards to improve data consistency and reduce manual effort.
  • Monitor item master data quality and identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
  • Provide training, support, and guidance to stakeholders regarding item master processes, data standards, and system functionality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve item master issues impacting business operations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to master data management, ERP/PLM integration, and business process optimization.
  • Participate in and lead projects related to item master data, system improvements, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Summary

The Item Master Administrator reports to the IT department and serves as the central steward of part and item master data within the organization’s ERP environment. This role is responsible for the creation, auditing, maintenance, and governance of accurate, complete, and consistent item master records.

Working closely with Engineering, Finance, Procurement, Sales, Operations, and the Product Configuration Administrator, this position ensures accurate population of item attributes, synchronization between Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP and Bluestar PLM, effective revision control, and successful phase-in of new items and phase-out of obsolete parts.

The Item Master Administrator plays a critical role in maintaining data integrity, supporting cross-functional business processes, and improving operational efficiency across the organization.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate with Engineering to initiate new part creation and collaborate with Finance, Procurement, Sales, Operations, and other teams to ensure item master attributes are accurately populated in Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP.
  • Maintain synchronization of item master data between Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP and Bluestar PLM, including item attributes, revisions, and configuration-related information.

  • Maintain 98%+ item master data accuracy and completeness through audits, timely attribute population, and ERP/PLM synchronization.
  • Improve new item and part setup timelines to minimize delays impacting product development, procurement, sales, and production.
  • Maintain effective revision control and data governance while reducing duplicate, obsolete, inaccurate, or inconsistent records.
  • Support successful phase-in of new items and phase-out of obsolete items with minimal business disruption.
  • Improve data quality through standardized templates, workflows, procedures, and governance practices.
  • Support accurate ERP and PLM integration to ensure reliable product and item information.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that increase efficiency and strengthen master data management processes.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience in item master management, ERP master data administration, PLM data coordination, or similar master data governance roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 ERP and Bluestar PLM, or similar ERP/PLM systems.

This position primarily operates in a professional office environment, with most time spent working on a computer, participating in conference calls, and attending meetings. The role may occasionally require access to manufacturing or operational areas and requires compliance with all workplace safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment when required.

The role requires prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer, along with occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, and participation in meetings or activities within office and manufacturing environments.
