This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) term-limited or special duty position expected to last up to 12 months with possibility of extension. King County's Department of Local Services (RSD) is seeking an Administrator II to provide comprehensive administrative services and support to the Special Operations Unit, within the County Road Division’s Maintenance Section. The ideal candidate for this role will be a proactive highly organized individual, with strong interpersonal skills, exceptional attention to detail, the ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities, and is committed to equity and social justice. The Administrator II will support Section operations by handling a diverse range of administrative tasks to assist managers; will work independently, conduct research, coordinate team efforts, evaluate new policies and procedures, analyze various types of information, prepare reports, and facilitate issue resolution on behalf of management. This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) term-limited or special duty position expected to last up to 12 months with possibility of extension. It is open to all qualified applicants and may be used to fill current and or/future career service, term-limited temporary, short-term temporary, and or/special duty positions over the next six months. First consideration will be given to current PROTEC17 members in the same classification that are eligible for lateral transfer.

The work week is typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but may at times require work outside of normal business hours. This position is Non-Exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standard Act and is eligible for overtime pay, with prior supervisor approval.
This position has been designated (Mission-Critical) - Those employees who provide, maintain, and re-establish essential county functions as described in agency Continuity of Operations plans.

This is a hybrid position. The work associated with this position will be performed by teleworking, onsite work and meetings as needed. The responsibilities of this position will include regular and ongoing in-office work. Employees will have access to shared workspaces at various King County facilities. Employees must reside in Washington state and within a reasonable distance to their King County worksite to respond to workplace reporting requirements. Employees will be provided with a County issued laptop and must maintain a workspace with an internet connection (access may be supplemented in some situations) where they can reliably perform work and remain available and responsive during scheduled work hours. King County has a robust collection of tools and resources to support working remotely. The individual selected for this opportunity will be joining an innovative and progressive team that is redefining how we work as we transition to the department's hybrid environment.
