Job summary

The Florida Aquarium is seeking a veterinary technician leader to manage and provide veterinary technical support for the animal hospital and health team. You will work closely with the staff veterinarian, technicians, and a diverse group of biologists to uphold responsible husbandry and animal health practices.

You will also mentor and train veterinary technicians, students, and interns, and coordinate with volunteers. Compliance with AZA standards and regulatory agencies is required.

Job description

This position is responsible for managing and providing veterinary technical support The Florida Aquarium’s animal hospital and animal health team. They will work closely with the staff veterinarian, veterinary technicians and a diverse team of biologists and researchers dedicated to responsible husbandry and animal health practices. They will also provide mentorship, training and direction for other veterinary technicians, veterinary technician students and interns, and builds a strong base of volunteers. This position also performs
essential job functions in accordance with standards of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) and
as required by various regulatory agencies.
