Job summary

Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare System in Morristown, TN, seeks an Administrative Supervisor, Nursing Admin Support. The role directs and coordinates administrative activities on a specified tour of duty; referring patient care problems to appropriate nursing staff and non-nursing issues to the department head.

Responsibilities include reviewing staffing for each shift, aiding the charge nurse to ensure adequate coverage, making rounds, mentoring new personnel, and supporting quality improvement

Qualifications

  • Three years of clinical experience; nursing teaching preferred.
  • Current Tennessee RN license; CPR required.
  • Directing and coordinating administrative activities on a tour of duty.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews staffing each shift for each unit.
  • Assists charge nurse to assure adequate staffing when there is a problem.
  • Makes rounds and provides managerial presence.
  • Assists new personnel and acts as a resource to the nursing staff.
  • Assists with procedures when staff has difficulty.
  • Acts as advocate to find resources such as supplies as needed.
  • Listens to staff problems and effectively resolves conflict as necessary.
  • Responds to safety codes when necessary.
  • Provides information to nurse managers regarding quality and employee problems.
  • Resolves patient/family complaints when necessary.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

A registered nurse who directs and coordinates administrative activities on a specified tour of duty; referring patient care problems to appropriate nursing staff member and/or non-nursing problems to the appropriate department head.

Qualifications
Minimum Education

None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.

Minimum Experience

Three (3) years of clinical experience and experience in the teaching of nursing is desired.

Licensure Requirement

Current Tennessee RN license. CPR required.
