Job summary

Jobtailor in Mount Prospect, IL seeks a proactive healthcare administration leader to hire, train, and supervise clinical support staff, ensuring six-day coverage and optimal office operations. You will coordinate physician and therapist schedules to maximize revenue and oversee EMR training and material development.

You will drive process improvements with BHS leadership, monitor billing accuracy, and guide safety protocols while maintaining HR records and payroll for hourly staff.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field
  • 2–4 years of healthcare billing experience, or 4–6 years of healthcare billing experience with 3–5 years of supervisory experience
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility to provide evening and weekend coverage as necessary

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, direct, evaluate, and supervise clinical support staff; take corrective actions when necessary
  • Develop support staff schedules to ensure six days a week coverage
  • Evaluate staff productivity; lead staff meetings and oversee projects
  • Oversee daily office operations including space, supplies, phones, and equipment
  • Monitor service levels and technical performance; create scripts and growth plans
  • Coordinate physician and therapist scheduling to optimize revenue
  • Establish and monitor administrative office operation protocols
  • Collaborate with BHS leadership on policies, procedures, and improvements
  • Teach EMR classes and train new associates and residents
  • Provide ongoing EMR consultation, troubleshooting, and training
  • Create and update EMR training materials
  • Monitor billing batch errors and assist with practice management software installations
  • Lead administrative system testing and track defects
  • Supervise staff change efforts for EMR-integrated technologies
  • Update billing-related tables and fee matrices
  • Monitor and approve payroll for hourly and administrative staff; manage holiday schedules
  • Serve as BHS Department Safety Liaison and participate in safety committees
  • Lead Environment of Care and Life Safety accreditation efforts
  • Monitor safety issues and train staff on safety protocols
  • Maintain HR files and liaise with HR Direct during audits
  • Manage clinicians' licenses, insurer paneling, and malpractice insurance
  • Supervise PHI archiving and medical records coordination
  • Lead a high-volume multidisciplinary behavioral health clinic
  • Model and train de-escalation strategies for difficult patients

  • Collaborate with BHS leadership on policies, procedures, issue resolution, and process improvements
  • Teach annual EMR classes to master-level externs and train new associates and medical residents
  • Provide ongoing EMR consultation, troubleshooting, and training
  • Create and update EMR training materials
  • Monitor billing batch errors and assist with practice management software installations and upgrades
  • Lead administrative system testing, aggregate defects, track resolution, and participate in user acceptance test planning
  • Supervise support staff change efforts for EMR-integrated technologies

Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field and 2–4 years of healthcare billing experience, or 4–6 years of healthcare billing experience and 3–5 years of supervisory experience
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Expert knowledge of de-escalation of difficult patients and ability to train and model these strategies
  • Familiarity with child and family mental health and substance abuse treatment provider networks
  • Flexibility to provide evening and weekend coverage as necessary
  • May be exposed to potentially violent patients, bodily fluids, hazardous materials, and threatening diseases
