Job summary

Oklahoma Corporation Commission is seeking an Administrative Programs Officer to oversee and coordinate comprehensive operating programs within the agency. The role focuses on administrative leadership, policy compliance, and effective stakeholder communication.

Basic Purpose

Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities involving professional level work in managing, coordinating or directing a comprehensive or specialized operating program, providing staff services in a major division, program, unit, or functional area, or similar responsibilities. This may include being assigned administrative responsibilities, coordination, promotion, and improvement of programs, performing highly technical administrative support duties for supervisory positions. Positions not clearly identified by another job family, but having responsibilities involving directing, managing, or coordinating various division functions or programs, may also be included in this job family.

Typical Functions

The functions performed in this job family will vary by level, unit and organization, but may include the following:

  • Trains other staff. Assigns projects as needed; develops and places in operation special procedures.
  • Initiates correspondence requiring knowledge of agency or program procedures and policies.
  • Develops and maintains confidential or complex files.
  • Interprets and advises internal and external customers on rules, regulations, and laws.
  • Coordinates activities with internal and external customers. Represents agency, supervising official or program area at meetings, conferences, or civic organizations.
  • Prepares invoices and payments of claims, requisitions, purchase orders and other fiscal duties.
  • Enters and retrieves information using personal computer or other data processing equipment and receives and reviews coded and uncoded source documents; reviews data and makes routine corrections.
  • Other duties as assigned.

At this level employees are assigned responsibilities, which are limited in size or scope involving the supervision, direction, management, coordination, or implementation of various programs or functions within an agency.

Education And Experience

Education and experience requirements at this level consist of five (5) years of technical clerical office work, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Knowledge, skills and abilities required at this level include knowledge of the methods of organization and management; of public administration; and of agency policies and procedures. Ability is required to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and to exercise good judgment in analyzing situations and making decisions.

Special Requirements

Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill all job-related travel normally associated with this position.

Additional Job Description

Core work hours for the Oklahoma Corporation Commission are Monday through Friday, 8am-4:30pm. This schedule may require flexibility based on the needs of the agency.

This position is not remote work eligible.
