Charlotte County Public Schools is seeking candidates for the Administrative Pool in Port Charlotte, FL. The role focuses on assisting the principal and acting as interim administrator as needed, with responsibilities across scheduling, budgeting, curriculum and operations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assists the principal in the overall administration of the school.
  • Serves as interim principal in the absence of the principal.
  • Assists in scheduling of classes and extra-curricular activities.
  • Coordinates and/or assists in the preparation of student schedules.
  • Works with department heads and staff in compiling the annual budget requests.
  • Evaluates staff as requested.
  • Collaborates in writing, implementing and monitoring the Student Learning Plan.
  • Assists in implementing and monitoring the curriculum.
  • Coordinates supplies, textbooks, and equipment; conducts inventories and maintains records.
  • Cooperates in safety inspections and drills; supports transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other services.
  • Maintains discipline and engages with parents, faculty, and students to advance educational objectives.
  • Performs record-keeping and follow-up tasks as directed by the principal.

Education

Master's degree
Florida certification in Educational Leadership / School Principal / Administration and Supervision

As of July 2021, the prerequisites for consideration in the general administrative pool are:

  • Completion of a Master’s Degree
  • Certification in Educational Leadership from the Florida Department of Education
  • 5 years of Teaching Experience
  • Three Letters of Recommendation (including one from Current Supervisor)

  • Coordinates supplies, textbooks, and equipment, conducting inventories, maintaining records, and checking on receipts for such materials.
  • Cooperates in the conducting of safety inspections and safety drill practice activities.
  • Coordinates and/or assists with transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services.
  • Assists in maintaining discipline throughout the student body, and deals with special cases as necessary.
  • Serves with parent, faculty, and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives.
  • Performs such record-keeping and follow-up functions as the principal may direct.
  • Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as the principal may from time to time assign.
