Job summary

Valley of the Sun United Way in Phoenix seeks an Administrative Grants Manager to oversee grants projects and data reporting, advancing our strategic impact plan in Health, Hunger/Homelessness, Workforce Development, and Education.

You will manage grant processes, build capacity with nonprofits, and collaborate with the Community Development & Engagement team to accelerate impact while ensuring quality and cost‑effective grant resources.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grants system management (preferably e-CImpact).
• At least two years of experience in the nonprofit field, preferably in philanthropy or grant writing.
• Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, public administration, business management, or related field.
• Valid Arizona driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance, and daily access to a personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Executes and delivers project plans with emphasis on grants system (e-CImpact).
• Prepare grant process documents and reports, ensuring data accuracy and understanding community needs.
• Supports and may lead trainings supporting nonprofits in alignment to grants process.
• Builds and maintains relationships with external stakeholders and partners.
• Represents VSUW in external meetings and reports back to the team.
• Collaborates across departments, working with the CDE Leadership Team to deliver projects successfully.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with other department staff for improved customer service.
• Other projects as assigned.

The Administrative Grants Manager manages projects and priorities within grants and the grants system- to advance our strategic impact plan (Health, Hunger/Homelessness, Workforce Development, and Education). This position implements and executes project plans related to our grants process including but not limited to the creation of reporting, applications and the collection and analyzing of data - to ensure program objectives are met and works closely with the Community Development & Engagement (CDE) Directors. This individual contributes to solutions that advance VSUW's vision, mission, and impact in the community related to our grant impact priorities. The Administrative Grants Manager will plan and organize tasks -to ensure the acceleration of impact, high quality and relevant services, and cost-effective management of grant resources.

Essential Functions

• Executes and delivers project plans with emphasis on working with grants system, e-CImpact.
• Prepare grant process documents and reports including reviewing data in VSUW's web-based systems, checking to ensure accuracy and quality, and to better understand community needs.
• Supports and may lead trainings supporting nonprofits in alignment to grants process and/or building capacity within our community.
• Builds and maintains relationships with external stakeholders and partners.
• Represents VSUW in external meetings/conferences and captures appropriate information to report back to other team members.
• Collaborates across departments, while working closely with the CDE Leadership Team to deliver projects successfully.
• Establish and maintain relationships with other department staff for improved customer service by proactively communicating with department members to collect information, provide follow-up and ensure clear understanding.
• Other projects as assigned.

Requirements

A combination of education or relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.

• Proficiency in current Microsoft Office Suite and preferably grants system management, preferably e-CImpact, or other system management.
• At least two (2) years of experience in the nonprofit field, preferably in philanthropy, or in grant writing.
• Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, public administration, business management, or a related field.
• Valid Arizona drivers license, proof of automobile insurance, and daily access to personal vehicle.
