Job summary

Human Rights Watch in New York seeks an Associate for the Children's Rights Division to provide administrative and programmatic support. The role reports to the division's executive director and collaborates with staff across locations, including outside the U.S.

The successful candidate will work 2–3 days per week in the New York office, handle scheduling, travel, minutes, and document processes, and assist with events and recruitment as needed.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • One year of full-time relevant work experience preferred.
  • Strong administrative and organizational abilities required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to Children's Rights Division staff.
  • Schedule meetings, arrange travel, take minutes, and manage correspondence.
  • Maintain communication between HRW offices, staff, and external partners.
  • Proofread and format materials and coordinate publication processes.
  • Code and update online documents; assist with divisional finances and donations.
  • Support desk research, news monitoring, and event coordination both virtual and in-person.
  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding of interns and staff.
  • Carry out other duties as required.
