Job summary

American Airlines is hiring an Administrative Assistant for Inflight Compliance and Reporting at the DFW HQ. This role supports filing, data extraction, and reporting through AFARS and CERS, ensuring timely and accurate documentation in Flight Attendant Reporting Database and related systems.

Ideal candidates have strong typing, Excel skills, and a customer-focused mindset; you’ll work with the Flight Service Reporting team to monitor trends and deliver essential reports and notifications.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Typing speed 35–50 WPM with accurate record keeping.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Review and classify FA reports (regulatory and non-regulatory).
  • Monitor trends and escalate issues to supervisors.
  • Manage DOT, CEER, LTMD, and Disability cases affecting Inflight Operations.
  • Conduct data extraction to support ad hoc reports.
  • Ensure timely case notifications per contractual language.
  • Maintain communication through approved channels.
  • Lead monthly Catering Dispute processes with stakeholders.
  • Escalate CERS reports to Inflight Ops when outreach is needed.
  • Participate in FA engagement events and assist with inquiries.
  • Support monthly collaboration and reporting initiatives.
  • Collaborate with team members.

  • Coordinator, Flight Service Reporting Administrative Assistant, Inflight Reporting is responsible for ensuring all the Safety and non-safety related issues reported by Flight Attendants are recorded and classified accurately in the Flight Attendant Reporting Database (AFARS) and Corporate Event Reporting System.
  • Responsible for conducting data extraction by using AFARS to support any ad hoc reports
  • The role is a part of the Flight Service Reporting team within our Flight Service group. Inflight Response team within our Inflight group.
What you'll do

  • Responsible for reviewing and classifying Flight Attendant (FA) reports (regulatory and/or non-regulatory)
  • Responsible for monitoring trends and elevate special issues to supervisor leaders and/or corresponding departments
  • Responsible for managing and distributing distribute DOT (Department of Transportation), CEER (Customer Experience Escalation Resolution), LTMD(Long Tarmac Delay), and Disability cases impacting Inflight Operations
  • Responsible for conducting data extraction by using, AFARS and CERS to support any ad hoc reports
  • Ensure timely delivery of case notifications to Flight Attendants per contractual language and stakeholder teams
  • Adhere to established communication channels and contractual requirements throughout the process.
  • Responsible for managing the monthly Catering Dispute process with internal and external stakeholders
  • Responsible for escalating CERS reports to Inflight Ops support team when FA outreach is necessary.
  • Participate in Flight Attendant engagement events to assist Flight Attendants with application questions and promote the FA Report utilization
  • Support monthly collaboration/reporting initiatives
  • Work cooperatively with other team members

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • High School diploma or GED equivalency
  • Ability to type 35 to 50 WPM as this position requires timely and accurate record keeping
  • Intermediate knowledge of computer experience in Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Flight attendant, Inflight Operational Experience, Customer Service, or Catering Operation experience, Customer Experience, Escalation, and Recovery
  • Advance knowledge in Excel Microsoft Suite and/or data processing
  • Data analytics and/or data science related experiences
  • Knowledge in SABRE, DECS, and FA Crew Portal Suite

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Ability to learn additional computer applications
  • Ability to make independent decisions and collaborate with manager and team members
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout the organization
  • Ability to perform efficiently with minimal supervision and strong attention to detail
