Washington State Board of Accountancy (ACB) is seeking an experienced executive support professional to coordinate high-level support functions for the Executive Director and Deputy Director. Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM, Expectation is employee completes work within assigned work week but may occasionally need to adjust work schedule and/or work a longer day or on the weekend to complete assigned responsibilities.
This hybrid position requires 2 days of the week (days to be determined) for in office schedule. Will be required to be in the office more frequently during on-boarding and training(s).
The Washington State Board of Accountancy (ACB) is a consumer protection agency that initially qualifies and continues to monitor the professional performance and ethical behavior of Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), CPA-Inactive certificate-holders, CPA firms, and non-licensee CPA firm owners, serving individual and enterprise consumers in Washington State.
Unlike most state agencies, the Board of Accountancy (ACB) is not funded by public tax dollars. CPAs, CPA-Inactive certificate-holders, CPA firms, non-licensee CPA firm owners and CPA examination applicants pay administrative fees which cover all of the agency's operating expenses.
You will play a critical role in maintaining efficient agency operations by coordinating executive support functions, tracking agency deliverables, supporting policy and contract activities, facilitating communication with statewide partners, and ensuring timely responses to the Governor’s Office, external agency requests and legislative inquiries. In addition, you will also be supporting agency-wide operational needs, including travel coordination, facilities and equipment management, fiscal and treasury requirements, customer service initiatives, enforcement support activities, and representation of the Executive Team in meetings and operational discussions.
One year of experience as an Administrative Assistant 4, or two (2) years of experience as an Administrative Assistant 3
A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration or closely allied field;
Combination of education and relevant experience totaling four (4) years.

State Employees are members of the Washington Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS). New employees have the option of two employer contributed retirement programs. Full‑time and part‑time employees are entitled to paid holidays and one paid personal holiday per calendar year. Employees who are members of certain Unions may be entitled to additional personal leave day(s), please refer to position specific Collective Bargaining Agreements for more information. Full‑time employees who work full monthly schedules qualify for holiday compensation if they are employed before the holiday and are in pay status for at least 80 nonovertime hours during the month of the holiday; or for the entire work shift preceding the holiday.
Full‑time employees earn eight hours of sick leave per month. Overtime eligible employees who are in pay status for less than 80 hours per month, earn a monthly proportionate to the number of hours in pay status, in the month to that required for full‑time employment. Overtime exempt employees who are in pay status for less than 80 hours per month do not earn a monthly accrual of sick leave. Sick leave accruals for part‑time employees will be proportionate to the number of hours in pay status, in the month to that required for full‑time employment. Pay status includes hours worked, time on paid leave and paid holiday.
Full‑time employees accrue vacation leave at the rates specified in WAC 357‑31‑165(1) or the applicable collective bargaining agreement (CBA). Full‑time employees who are in pay status for less than 80 nonovertime hours in a month do not earn a monthly accrual of vacation leave. Part‑time employees accrue vacation leave hours in accordance with WAC 357‑31‑165(1) or the applicable collective bargaining agreement (CBA) on a pro rata basis. Vacation leave accrual will be proportionate to the number of hours in pay status, in the month to that required for full‑time employment. Pay status includes hours worked, time on paid leave and paid holiday. As provided in WAC 357‑58‑175, an employer may authorize a lump‑sum accrual of vacation leave or accelerate the vacation leave accrual rate to support the recruitment and/or retention of a candidate or employee for a Washington Management Service position. Vacation leave accrual rates may only be accelerated using the rates established WAC 357‑31‑165.
