Job summary

Sonoco in Milwaukee, WI is seeking an organized Administrative Assistant to support daily office operations and coordinate activities. You will manage calls, mail, onboarding paperwork, and EE files, while assisting with vendor invoices and office supplies.

The role requires strong MS Office skills, good communication, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment. Day shift, full-time position.

Qualifications

  • Secretarial or Office Administrative experience.
  • Strong Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational and Leadership skills.
  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Office Skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Some college or advanced studies preferred.
  • Kronos experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Actively track weekly and monthly safety documents and participate in the plant’s safety steering team.
  • Coordinate company functions and meetings.
  • Schedule onsite training as required.
  • Participate in monthly inventory of finished goods and raw materials.
  • Process onboarding paperwork and maintain EE personnel files.
  • Enter plant purchases and vendor invoices for order/payment.
  • Answer phone/e-mail and direct customers/visitors to appropriate personnel.

Position: Administrative Assistant

Location: Milwaukee, WI

Rate: $25.82/hour

Schedule: day shift

Position Summary

We are seeking an organized, self-motivated office administrator to join our growing organization. In this position, you will manage a variety of administrative tasks such as: answering phone calls, organizing mail, working with our mainframe systems and directing visitors. As you will provide office support and coordinate office activities, a positive attitude and attention to detail is strongly encouraged.

Essential Functions
  • Actively track weekly and monthly safety documents and participate in the plant’s safety steering team.
  • Help coordinate company functions and meetings.
  • Schedule onsite training as required.
  • Participate in monthly physical inventory of finished goods and raw material.
  • Schedule outbound freight as a back up.
  • Assist with employee orientations.
  • Process onboarding paperwork and maintain EE personnel files.
  • Track EE attendance and points and payroll.
  • Maintain and replenish office supplies as well as tools.
  • Enter plant purchases and vendor invoices for order/payment.
  • Answer phone/e-mail and direct customers/visitors to appropriate personnel for assistance.
  • Distribute mail and faxes; prepare written correspondence.
  • File and maintain all relevant documents.
  • Perform other similar and related duties as assigned.
