Job summary

Livingstone College is seeking an Adjunct Woodwinds Instructor to join our music faculty. The ideal candidate will teach woodwind lessons, prep students for recitals, and assess progress using Blackboard.

Requirements include a Master's in music (Performance or related field); Doctorate preferred and experience teaching saxophone, flute, and clarinet. Preference for marching band and jazz combo experience. This is a regular part-time, on-site faculty role in Salisbury, NC.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in music, performance or related field; Doctorate preferred.
• Ability to teach saxophone, flute and clarinet.
• Preference for marching band and/or jazz combo experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach individual woodwinds lessons to music majors and band members at the undergraduate level.
• Prepare students for recitals, end-of-semester juries, and ensemble performances.
• Record evidence of student progress and assessment using Blackboard, in accordance with program learning outcomes and the quality enhancement plan.
• Demonstrate commitment to growth of the musical arts in the Salisbury community and growth of the Livingstone College Music and Theatre Arts Department.
• Other duties as assigned

Position Summary

Livingstone College is seeking a dynamic, skilled, and resourceful Adjunct Woodwinds Instructor to join our music faculty. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in woodwinds performance and pedagogy, with the ability to inspire and instruct students across a range of instruments, including flute, saxophone, and clarinet. This position requires a commitment to providing high-quality, engaging instruction to students of varying skill levels. Preference will be given to candidates with marching band, jazz, and orchestral experience.

Education/ Experience

What you will need to be successful!

• Preference given to applicants with significant experience as a performer and teacher in a variety of styles, including marching band and/or jazz combo.
