Job summary

Success Education Colleges (SEC) seeks part-time Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse instructors to teach LIVE clinical rotations in California at partner hospitals. Strong candidates will guide students through clinical labs, assessments, and patient care, ensuring safety and learning outcomes.

Minimum five years RN experience, current CA license, and ability to coordinate with clinical sites are required. Travel to clinical sites is expected; evening/weekend shifts may be needed.

Qualifications

• RN with a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Minimum five years RN experience, with five years in the specialty field.
• California RN or LVN license active and in good standing.
• Ability to teach clinical, lab and classroom settings.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; travel required.

Responsibilities

• Teach part-time LIVE clinical rotations at well-known hospitals and facilities.
• Accept complete responsibility for students in the clinical facility.
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning.
• Clarify expectations with students and clinical staff; assign patients and data.
• Provide ongoing feedback and evaluate progress on a weekly basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity to teach clinical at well-known, established hospitals and medical facilities.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Accept complete responsibility for students in the clinical facilityTeach a course load as assigned, including preparation for and instruction of clinical laboratoryPlan and organize instruction in ways that maximize student learningClarify daily clinical expectations with students during pre-conferenceClarify student placement and expectations with clinical facility staffMake patient/student assignments that meet both clinical objectives and patient needsDirect students in data collection and integration into their clinical paperwork; provide resources to students to ensure critical thinking through the nursing processCoordinate a daily plan with Clinical site to best observe, instruct, and evaluate studentsDirect post conference to ensure application of theoretical content to clinical experiences; provide opportunities for students to share learned experiences and verbalize feelingsEvaluate student progress and give feedback weekly; provide clear objectives for improvement as neededProvide immediate feedback of clinical performance following observation of skillsLAB INSTRUCTION:The instructor will oversee and facilitate laboratory sessions for students in the lab. This role involves providing hands-on instruction, ensuring safety protocols are followed, and fostering a supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement and inquiry.Requirements:Registered or Licensed Vocational Nurse - current active license in the state of CaliforniaPrevious teaching experience, preferred but not requiredExcellent written and oral communication skills and analytical skillsFunctional abilities to carry out classroom, clinical and laboratory teaching responsibilitiesCompetence in clinical skills in areas of teachingCompetent in personal computer applications: word processing, spreadsheet, database, and emailEducation:RN with A Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
