Job summary

Del Mar College is seeking an Adjunct/S substitute for the Cosmetology program to teach assigned courses across times and locations as needed. This is a pool to fill part-time/adjunct assignments on an as-needed basis, with interview scheduling by the department if interested.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years work experience in cosmetology.

Job Description Summary

ADJUNCT / SUBSTITUTE – COSMETOLOGY : The purpose of this position is to teach assigned courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need, and maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues and the community. Courses may include online courses and/or dual‑credit/early college classes.

Minimum Qualifications

ADJUNCT :

  • Associate’s degree in Cosmetology or related field.
  • Current Texas Cosmetology licensure.
  • Three (3) years work experience in cosmetology.

SUBSTITUTE :

  • Current Texas Cosmetology licensure.
  • Three (3) years work experience in cosmetology.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the teaching discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

Successful college teaching experience experience utilizing instructional technologies, including computers, internet resources and other appropriate media in instruction.
