Job summary

Providence College's Elementary/Special Education Program seeks adjunct instructors to supervise and evaluate teacher candidates during their student teaching semesters. The program prepares candidates for initial teacher certification in elementary and special education, with supervision training provided.

Compensation is based on the number of practicum students supervised per semester. Master's in Education and at least 3 years of teaching experience are required; RI or MA certification is

Master's in Education degree required.
At least 3 years of teaching/school experience.
Experience giving actionable feedback to improve teaching and student learning.

Responsibilities

Co-supervise and evaluate teacher candidates during student teaching.
Complete at least 4 formal observations/evaluations per semester.
Conduct pre- and post-observation meetings with each candidate.
Provide feedback orally and in writing after observations.
Grade the candidate's portfolio upon completion of the semester.
Communicate concerns with the department chair promptly.
