Job summary

Del Mar College is continuously recruiting for an adjunct pool to fill sociology courses as needed across multiple times and locations. Courses may include online and dual-credit classes, with employment based on institutional demand.

Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in sociology is required. Qualified applicants should be able to adapt teaching styles to diverse student needs and may be asked to teach in-person or online formats.

Qualifications

  • Ability to utilize a variety of teaching styles and methods to accommodate diverse learning styles of students.
  • Experience teaching at the secondary or college level.
  • Experience utilizing instructional technologies in instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses in a variety of times and locations in response to institutional need, including online and/or dual-credit/early college classes.
  • Make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction.
  • Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students with differing educational and experiential backgrounds in meeting course outcomes.
  • Performance of job duties as assigned by the department.

This is a CONTINUOUS recruitment for an applicant POOL to fill part-time/adjunct assignments on an as-needed basis. Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching at the secondary or college level. Successful experience utilizing instructional technologies, including computers, internet resources and other appropriate media in instruction.
