Job summary

Grand Canyon University seeks an Adjunct Clinical Nursing faculty member to support pre-licensure nursing education and student performance in the Tucson area.

The role requires travel to student sites for direct observation, collaboration with faculty, and ongoing alignment with the university’s mission and accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• MSN or higher required.
• 2 years’ recent clinical work experience in mental health nursing.
• Bachelor’s in nursing AND 3 years of recent direct patient care nursing experience in mental health nursing AND enrolled in graduate program OR hold relevant national certification.
• Nurses must possess an active, current, unencumbered, and unrestricted AZ or multi-state RN license.
• An active, current, unencumbered, and multi-state (compact) RN license.
• Must successfully pass a drug test and competency testing.
• Excellent communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce didactic content, teaching the knowledge and skills needed for pre-licensure nursing.
• Collaborate with content area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress toward clinical objectives.
• Participate in grading written and clinical performance check-offs.
• Remain current with new trends and development in the specific field of nursing practice.
• Maintain compliance with requirements for program accreditation.
• Uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession as well as the pillars of the University.
• Travel to GCU student sites, directly observing student performance.
• Participate in and/or support of the university program in all areas including alignment with the institution’s philosophy and community service.
• Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.

Education

Bachelor’s in nursing

MSN or higher

This clinical adjunct position requires travel within the Tucson, AZ area to directly observe student performance,when scheduled for clinical rotations.
