Job Description
We are currently looking for an Adjunct Radiology instructor at our Lexington location. Adjunct faculty members report to their respective Dean; however, they may have a dotted line reporting responsibility to a specified Department/Program Director or General Education Chair. Adjunct faculty members are student-centered, teaching mentors who assist students to progress through their academic programs to completion. The responsibilities involve instruction and assessment of student learning.

Responsibilities
- Facilitate learning in face-to-face, online, hybrid, and/or HyFlex environments, deliver effective and career-relevant instruction, provide an environment conducive to learning, evaluate student learning for all assigned classes, respond to student inquiries and grade all assignments in a timely manner.
- Engage students using collaborative learning, experiential learning, and/or problem-based learning techniques.
- Deliver course curriculum utilizing the University’s LMS.
- Participate in course and program level learning assessments, define learning outcomes, administer measures, evaluate performance, suggest improvements, and make updates to courses.
- Work with the Dean, Department Chair, and/or Program Director on development and revision of course maps and select and revise course materials where appropriate.
- Schedule, supervise, debrief, and evaluate students in clinical, externship, observation, field experience, and similar settings as appropriate.
- Participate in student retention activities, reach out to students with excessive absences, document retention activities, and ensure students are aware of University services.
- Communicate availability (office hours) via email, phone, or other contact.
- Adjunct faculty encouraged to attend graduation.
- Teach radiography and limited medical radiography courses.
- Assist with laboratory procedures and clinical assignments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Current ARRT in Radiologic Technology and a current KY Radiologic Operator's license.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Radiologic Technologist.
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered.
- Two years of experience working with students preferred.
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
- Knowledgeable and comfortable with active teaching methods and teaching technologies including AI.
- Excellent leadership, customer service, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Ability to function efficiently in a stressful work environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and travel to multiple locations as dictated by the course schedule.
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, and move around campus.
- Must be able to hear and speak well enough to communicate with students, faculty, and staff face to face, via telephone, and email or virtual meetings.
